Këngëtari Besart Kelmendi, i njohur për publikun si Gjesti, ka dhënë dëshminë e tij në gjykatë lidhur me incidentin për të cilin po hetohet.

Ai ka thënë se gjithçka ka ndodhur në një moment të vështirë emocional dhe ka kërkuar falje për situatën.

“Dua ta njoftoj gjykatën se jam në ankth dhe kam vepruar në gjendje ankthi. I kërkoj falje gjykatës, prokurorit dhe palës së dëmtuar”, ka deklaruar ai gjatë seancës.

Nga ana tjetër, avokati i tij ka kundërshtuar kërkesën e Prokurorisë për paraburgim, duke argumentuar se reagimi ka qenë impulsiv dhe se në raste të tilla zakonisht nuk ekziston rreziku që një veprim i tillë të përsëritet.

Megjithatë, Gjykata në Prishtinë ka vendosur t’i caktojë këngëtarit masën e paraburgimit prej një muaji.

Gjesti u arrestua më 11 mars 2026 në Prishtinë nën akuzën për armëmbajtje pa leje. Sipas policisë, arrestimi ndodhi rreth orës 15:00 në rrugën “Mehmet Isahi”, ku artisti u ndalua dhe më pas u shoqërua në komisariat për t’u marrë në pyetje. Pas intervistimit, me vendim të prokurorit ai u dërgua në ndalim policor për 48 orë.

Një ditë më vonë, më 12 mars 2026, mediat raportuan edhe rrethanat që çuan në arrestim. Sipas burimeve, këngëtari kishte shkuar në zyrat e kompanisë muzikore Onima, ku pati një konflikt verbal me drejtuesin e saj, Erkand Shabani.

Situata dyshohet se u tensionua gjatë debatit dhe raportohet se u dëmtua një kompjuter në ambientet e kompanisë, çka bëri që drejtuesit të njoftonin policinë për kanosje dhe dëmtim prone.

Gest's testimony before the court: "I apologize, I acted in a state of anxiety"

Singer Besart Kelmendi, known to the public as Gjesti, has given his testimony in court regarding the incident that is being investigated.

He said that everything happened at a difficult emotional moment and apologized for the situation.

"I want to inform the court that I am anxious and I acted in a state of anxiety. I apologize to the court, the prosecutor and the injured party," he stated during the hearing.

On the other hand, his lawyer has opposed the Prosecution's request for detention, arguing that the reaction was impulsive and that in such cases there is usually no risk that such an action will be repeated.

However, the Court in Pristina has decided to sentence the singer to one month in pre-trial detention.

Gjesti was arrested on March 11, 2026 in Prishtina on charges of illegal possession of weapons. According to the police, the arrest took place at around 3:00 PM on “Mehmet Isahi” Street, where the artist was stopped and then escorted to the police station for questioning. After the interview, by decision of the prosecutor, he was sent to police custody for 48 hours.

A day later, on March 12, 2026, the media also reported the circumstances that led to the arrest. According to sources, the singer had gone to the offices of the Onima music company, where he had a verbal conflict with its director, Erkand Shabani.

The situation allegedly became tense during the argument and it is reported that a computer on the company's premises was damaged, which led managers to notify the police for threats and property damage.
